Festival Events for Sunday, October 23
Sunday featured a tour of the western town filming location known as Mescal, Arizona. Several motion pictures were filmed in Mescal, such as Tom Horn, The Quick and the Dead, Monte Walsh and The Frisco Kid, as were some television series, like Little House on the Prairie. In addition, along the way we will stop at various locations in Santa Cruz County where major motion pictures were filmed.
The tour was led by historians from Old Tucson Studios, and departed at 10:00 a.m. from the front entrance of the Quality Hotel Americana. The tour group returned to the hotel at approximately 4:00 p.m.
Movie Screenings at The Old Tin Shed in Patagonia
Beginning at 6:00 p.m., The Old Tin Shed Theater in Patagonia hosted a screening of the documentary Ours Is the Land (2016), by acclaimed Tubac filmmaker Frances Causey, followed by a showing of the classic Western Tom Horn (1980).
